Dr. and Mrs. Robert Christian have been an integral part of the Methodist University family for over 50 years.

Dr. and Mrs. Robert Christian have been an integral part of the Methodist University family for over 50 years. In 1968, the Christians arrived on campus after Robert joined the Methodist faculty as an English professor.
Through Robert's passion for literature and Kathryn's service as a nurse in the MU Health Center and later as library assistant, they have touched the lives of countless MU students. Dr. Christian officially retired in 2008 and continued teaching part time until 2018. He is still a frequent visitor on campus and a part of the community.
Due to their love for the University, the Christians established the Robert S. and Kathryn F. Christian endowed scholarship to support students majoring in English at MU. Following Mrs. Christian's death, Dr. Christian and his children established the Kathryn F. Christian endowed scholarship supporting nursing students to honor Kathryn's long career in nursing.
The Christians wanted to leave their legacy by giving at Methodist University noting, "our work at Methodist University was a labor of love for both of us. As we approached retirement, endowing a scholarship was a wonderful way for us to keep supporting Methodist University in the future."
